“Places like Sheldon House exemplify why people love staying in B&Bs. There's not a pillow or a pot of jam out of place, while Mike & Caroline are as kind as they come. Stay here.”
Sheldon House is sympathetically decorated to complement its Grade 2 listing; our guest rooms are named after heritage Derbyshire apple varieties, Peak District watercolours by a local artist are displayed in each room.
"A faultless experience from start to finish, a warm welcome, beautiful room and tasty breakfast. All set in a beautiful village with plenty of countryside walks and a lovely pub. Add in a slice of homemade cake... mmm! Going anywhere else is going to be a let-down. 11 out of 10 from us!"
We offer a wide choice of breakfasts, with local ingredients used wherever possible. Bread, preserves, and cakes on arrival, are all homemade and special diets catered for. We also offer packed lunches, often very welcome – especially if you’re walking and the next village is just a bit too far away!
"Mike and Caroline have turned hospitality into an art form together. A beautiful tea-in-the-garden welcome to two weary walkers, such comfortable and tasteful rooms and a delicious breakfast. In a word: quality!"
Evening meals may be available at Sheldon House by arrangement, or the Bull’s Head pub offers good beer and good food just 5 minutes’ walk away.
“Thank you for your warm hospitality - we loved the delicious homemade food. Dinner last night was superb.”

Toilet Twinning, providing basic toilet facilities in places in developing countries that have none.
The Peak District National Park Access Fund, improving access to the Park by maintaining footpaths and signage.
